I have been meaning to write something for honestly over a year ago. You know how that goes, you need to do an errand, you need to do work more, clean up the house, workout …maybe make dinner the list can go on forever. And then?! Well, the day is over, time for bed. All of the sudden, the thing that was on your calendar that you meant to prep for, is right in front of you, and you haven’t done anything for it. Sound familiar?
That, my friends, is procrastination. I am all too familiar with it. I am working on it, but sometimes I get too psyched. It can also mean, taking to many projects on at once. I am human and make mistakes ALL THE TIME. I try to learn from them but they happen. This can flood into training, eating, and sleep. I am sure you can relate.
A couple of months ago I started a GoFundMe to raise money for women who wanted training after they have dealt with a mastectomy. I wanted to offer my coaching strength training services to women who wanted to get up, get stronger, and fight back after everything they had or are going to go through.
I am still raising money for that, and I want others to know I am trying to lead by example and let other women know they will be stronger than before and that they have hope. I was looking for a role model that was taking action, strong after having gone through a double mastectomy before I had surgery. I wanted to know I was going to be able to climb again. Maybe even climb harder and push myself. I wanted to run fast again, be able to push my body even more than before. But instead, I went into surgery not knowing what to expect.
I am writing to that woman that wants to see it with her own eyes. You WILL be stronger if you are about to go through this. Or if you are in the process of recovery. YOU ARE almost ready to train.
If you know someone who has gone through a double mastectomy or is going to go through one, please share this! Now go take action!
