Beginning with Joslynn
Bodyenroute began in 2018 during Joslynn's previvor journey. As an experienced strength coach at the time, she recognized the value of working with a professional to help with the return to sport after an injury or major surgery. Joslynn searched, unsuccessfully, for an individual who specialized in both pre-and post-mastectomy care and also understood the desire to remain physically active after mastectomy.
Joslynn decided to leave her job as a strength and conditioning coach at a climbing gym and start her own business, Bodyenroute. She was confident that her expertise as a trainer for elite rock climbers and NCAA athletes, combined with her experiences with her mastectomy, would inform her role as an advocate for mastectomy care and empowerment.
Galen
Galen grew up surfing, climbing, skiing, and bike riding in the Pacific Northwest. After a severe ski accident, the long road to recovery was a paradigm shift for Galen. He recognized that exercise and fitness were privileges that allowed him to express his identity, he then made a commitment to prioritize mental and physical health through participation in a wide variety of sports. Among other activities, Galen is an experienced climbing coach, route setter, and former competitive climber. He is an NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach and has experience working with climbers, triathletes, trail runners, and rock climbers.
Galen’s formal education in chemistry, and experience as a biostatistician, inform his science-based approach to human physiology: because of the inherent variation in biology, training should be individualized.

Age-Defying Benefits: As we age, maintaining muscle mass and bone density becomes even more crucial. Our training not only helps you healthily perform now, but it also sets you up for a lifetime of active enjoyment. Strength training requires the use of added weight, which also stimulates bone growth and muscle mass, offsetting Osteoporosis and loss of muscle mass (Sarcopenia) associated with menopause and aging. Metabolic Transformation: Skeletal muscle is a crucial tissue for maintaining blood glucose control and energy balance. Muscle hypertrophy (bigger muscles) and increased strength, can be achieved by strength training. Hypertrophy of fast glycolytic muscle fibers also has metabolic benefits. Not only can increased lean mass (muscle) speed up your metabolism, more lean mass is also positively associated with reduced incidence of insulin resistance. [Ref]
